Chief Lending Officer
John V. Doull, Chief Lending Officer, graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Business Finance. Married for over 14 years, his personal passion of supporting his five children in their unique life journeys crosses over to his professional life of 19 years in the banking field. He really enjoys the life cycle of helping start-up businesses build from the ground up to become successful endeavors. Michelle Guthrie
Executive Vice President
Michelle Guthrie, Executive Vice President, is passionate about spending time with her family, especially her grandson. Her biggest accomplishment has been raising her children and her favorite vacation was a cruise to Bermuda spent with her entire family to celebrate her parent’s 50th wedding anniversary, although Alaskan Cruises are a close second. She is a pro with fine details from needle pointing to target shooting. Michelle makes relationships a priority and that includes relationships built at work. Cornerstone Bank is her second family. She started in banking at age 15, raised her family and has been at Cornerstone Bank since 2003. She would love to build a relationship with you and find a solution for your banking needs.
Robert Titus
Chief Financial Officer
Bob Titus, Chief Financial Officer for Cornerstone Bank believes in doing the best job he can do and being the best person he can be. This philosophy extends to the workplace where most of Bob’s clients are his co-workers. Bob helps them solve any issues they have related to operating the bank. He has 30 years of experience in banking. Asked about his biggest accomplishment, Bob says that he tries to focus on the big picture, but to motivate himself, he reflects on his past accomplishments. He looks forward to one day visiting Scotland, Ireland, the Vatican and watching the Olympics in person. For now, when he is not working, you can find him in the kitchen cooking up some wonderful dish, at a local BBQ competition, or working out in his yard.
Ken Torgler
Chief Credit Officer
Ken worked in the banking industry as a bank industry regulator since 1989 and then transitioned into commercial credit as a community banker in 2018. The transition into commercial banking allowed for a fulfilling career assisting small businesses, business owners, and company employees. Helping small businesses become more successful and profitable provides a strong sense of accomplishment, with a solid community banking relationship being a key strength to a company’s business strategy. Ken started his bank regulatory career in Wichita, Kansas but spent most of his career in the Kansas City market while residing in Overland Park, Kansas. At the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner, he was the Regional Director of the NE Region, supervising the Topeka and Kansas City field offices. He served out his regulatory career as the Director of Examinations and Chief Examiner, supervising the entire bank regulatory staff and eight offices across the State of Kansas. He is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, home of the Gorillas. His spouse Nancy and daughters Kara and Dani are also Pitt State graduates. When not working, Ken places a strong emphasis on family, religion, and hobbies such as attending sporting events, concerts, lake life, movies, reading, and tinkering on small projects.
Mark Clemmons
Vice President Treasury Management
Mark Clemmons, Vice President Treasury Management, has been helping customers in the banking field for 24 years. Mark says not one day has been the same for him. He is passionate about getting to know and working with Cornerstone Bank customers. Mark helps customers set up their office with the technology they need up to their comfort level. When Mark isn’t assisting customers by phone or in the lobby, he enjoys spending time with his wife of over 30 years and their two sons, taking their dog to the dog park or lounging on the sofa watching reruns of 1970 and 80’s TV shows. Madison McDonald

Madison McDonald, Asst Vice President Commercial Loans, holds a Bachelor of Agribusiness from Fort Hays State University. Madison is a seasoned banker with over 11 years of banking experience ranging from deposit and operations to lending. She strives to create a customer relationship that makes every customer feel like a part of the Cornerstone Bank family. It is her mission to provide you with a unique, tailored to you, customer relation experience. Madison is always up for a good challenge! In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the farm with her husband and their three children. They strive to cultivate and instill the love of the outdoors and agriculture in their children. She also loves to volunteer for local nonprofits and currently is the Co-chair of Running with the Cows.
Matt Doull
Vice President of Commercial Loans
Matt Doull, Vice President of Commercial Loans, holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas Christian University. Matt has eleven years of banking experience, seven of which were spent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area prior to moving home to Kansas City. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his friends/family and staying active.
Mike Fugate
Compliance Officer
Mike has been in the banking field for eleven years with ten of those years being in Compliance. He started at Cornerstone Bank November 2017. He loves researching and solving problems to make sure the bank stays in compliance with all applicable laws. As a dedicated lifelong learner, Mike received his M.B.A. from the University of Kansas in 2016. He also currently holds both the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO) designations.
In his spare time, you may find Mike metal detecting, camping with his son’s Boy Scout Troop, weight training or fishing with his children. He also enjoys exploring the United States with his family; the most recent adventures being a trip to Universal Studios in Florida, and a road trip to visit Silver Dollar City in Branson.
Brenda Amaro
Operations Officer/Cashier
Brenda Amaro, Operations Officer/Cashier, looks forward to using her 32 years of banking experience and knowledge to build relationships with the Cornerstone Banking Team and give our clients a satisfactory customer service experience. When outside of the bank Brenda enjoys spending time with her family and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
Shelly Holle
Asst. Vice President, Human Resources
Shelly Holle, Asst. Vice President, Human Resources, holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Her HR career started in western KS in 1996, before moving to Kansas City in 2019 and joining Cornerstone Bank. Shelly has developed vast knowledge and expertise in the group benefits industry and a broad range of HR initiatives. Understanding that an employee’s work experience has a profound effect on their overall lives, she strives to create a positive experience for every employee. Beginning early in her career, Shelly used her skill sets to support various western KS non-profit organizations. She continues to make an impact supporting Kansas City non-profit organizations as well.
Shelly is an avid concert-goer, loves attending live theater and Kansas City sporting events, and is a lifelong hobby photographer. She can often be found off the beaten path with a camera in hand. Although she prefers to be on the go, at home Shelly loves to garden, sew, cook, and spend time with family and friends.
Melanie Baptiste
Loan Operations Officer
Melanie’s role here at Cornerstone Bank is Loan Operations Officer. She manages the Loan Operations team at the bank who process and service our Commercial and Consumer loan transactions for our Loan Officers. She has been with the bank since April of 2019 and has been working in Lending Operations for the last 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and loves watching and cheering on Husker Volleyball, Kansas City Chiefs Football, and the KC Current Women’s Soccer team. She enjoys volunteering and coaching the middle school students at her Church. What she enjoys most about working at Cornerstone Bank are the people she gets to work with and the customers who come into the bank. Melanie thinks it is truly a great atmosphere to be in and she loves to go the extra mile to make sure our customers are taken care of.
Liz Butler
Loan Review Officer
Liz started at Cornerstone Bank in October of 2017. As the Loan Review Officer, she reviews loan requests, borrower and guarantor financials, and compiles the information into a memo. She runs reports, reviews appraisals, compiles commercial internal appraisals, stress tests the commercial real estate portfolio annually, compiles the monthly ALLL and concentration reports, and helps when help is needed. What Liz loves the most about her job is being able to help the lenders maintain or further the banking relationship with existing customers through reviewing existing loans and verifying the customers’ continuing success. She loves knowing that she is helping a small business grow! In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Sabrina Mariño
Administrative Officer
Sabrina Mariño, Administrative Officer, joined the Cornerstone Bank staff in 2018 after obtaining a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and working at the University of Kansas for 32 years. She brought her skill set with her to continue working behind the scenes, ensuring her co-workers have the tools they need to successfully assist customers.
At home, Sabrina spends her time creating lasting memories with her children and her new grandson. She and her husband love to travel to the Canary Islands to visit their oldest daughter and granddaughters.
